Ever look in a mirror and not really like what you see? Ever think you’re not really cut out for this thing? Maybe you wrestle with not feeling like you’re good enough. Self-esteem in the ditch and purpose waning like it doesn’t even exist? I have to admit this is a problem for so many people. It’s easy to put on a show like you’ve got it all together. We put on a smile and act all confident but inside we wonder why in the world God chose us to do this thing.
I know this might shock some of you but self-confidence is a huge struggle for me. That word nobody is one I have said to myself over and over again and not in a positive way at all. This song hits pretty deep for those of us who struggle with being enough. I encourage you to listen hard to the words. You won’t find your purpose here or your life’s work buried in the words of the chorus somewhere. But listen. It’s a declaration that the world doesn’t get to tell you what you’re worth.
Today I will freely and boldly admit to one thing. I am a nobody. I’m just a nobody who’s trying to tell everybody about somebody who made me worthy. My life’s goal isn’t to be somebody. I’ll never be good enough for myself or for most people in the world. But I know somebody who saved my soul in-spite of me. And that somebody is all I need to make this nobody a saved-body!
