The newest addition to the Living Word Family Resources is a tool we’re simply calling FX Family Devo’s.
It’s super simple and honestly nothing all that earth shattering but it’s an answer to your questions. You’ve asked how do we teach our children about God thoughout the week? And what resources do you recommend to take the message on Sunday home with us?
Well, this is exactly where our weekly FX Devo’s fit in! Launching on April 29 at our FX Live Carnival event is the first issue of FX Devo’s. The term devo is just short for devotion. You’ll learn quickly, if you haven’t already, that church people like to shorten words for some reason. These weekly devotions are short daily readings for you and your household to work through together. Yes they’re short and they are hand picked to help guide you from Sunday to Sunday.
Each day will contain a short section of the bible to read, just click the link and shazam just like that the bible verse appears. Then follow along with the activity for the day. Most of them are simple questions about where you saw something that reminded you of God today. Then you’ll end with a prayer.
Don’t be overwhelmed by the prayer thing. It’s super easy! It’s like talking to your best friend, dad and kind all at the same time. Sometimes you’re prayer will be something as short as Dear Jesus thank you for today and all its blessings. But other days you’ll want to get a little more specific. Just start with God and end with Amen. The middle is pretty much up for grabs. If you’re struggling with the prayer thing, let Pastor Derrick or Maddy know. They’ll gladly send you a couple of prayer prompts to help you out.
The long and short is we want to help enhance the family experience.
